
2025 World Armwrestling & Para-Armwrestling Championships
The 46th World Armwrestling & 27th Para-Armwrestling Championships are scheduled to take place from September 10 to 22, 2025, in Albena, Bulgaria. This prestigious event, organized by the World Armwrestling Federation (WAF), is anticipated to be the largest armwrestling gathering of the year, bringing together over 1,500 competitors, officials, and supporters from more than 60 countries.

2025 Independence Day Armwrestling Challenge
The 2025 edition of the Independence Day Armwrestling Challenge took place on March 15, 2025, at Centre Point Mall, Accra. Hosted by the Ghana Armwrestling Federation, the event featured top athletes from Ghana, Nigeria, Benin, and Togo, competing across multiple categories. Ghana dominated the challenge, with standout performances from Grace Mintah, Joshua Yeboah, and Wisdom Abromekyi, further cementing its status as a regional powerhouse in the sport.

2024 World Armwrestling Championship – Moldova
Held in Chișinău, Moldova, the 2024 World Championship was a landmark moment for Ghana Armwrestling. Star athlete Grace Mintah clinched a historic gold medal in the Women’s 80kg category, marking Ghana’s first gold at the global level. The event highlighted Ghana’s rising presence on the world armwrestling stage and inspired increased investment in female participation and elite training.

13th African Games Armwrestling Debut
For the first time in history, armwrestling featured in the 13th African Games held in March 2024 in Accra. Ghana’s national team secured 41 medals, becoming one of the top medal-winning federations in the competition.

2023 Africa Armwrestling Championship
From June 21–25, 2023, Ghana hosted the 12th Africa Armwrestling Championship in Accra. Over 27 countries competed, and Ghana topped the medal table with 132 medals. The event served as a qualifier for the African Games and World Combat Games.

HD+ Kids Armwrestling Championship – Season II Finals
The finals of HD+ Kids Armwrestling Season II were held on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at GNAT Hall, Accra. Organized by the Ghana Armwrestling Federation in partnership with HD+, the event showcased the next generation of Ghanaian armwrestling talent. Over 100 young athletes competed across age and weight categories, with strong media presence and support from partners like Joy Prime, Twellium, and K-Balm. The championship continues to serve as a platform for youth development and grassroots expansion of the sport.
