ACCRA — With barely four days remaining before their official departure for the 47th World Armwrestling Championship in New Delhi, India, Ghana’s national armwrestling team, the Golden Arms, has received a crucial financial and logistical lifeline.
In a powerful demonstration of public and corporate solidarity, the Ghana Police Service, the Ghana Immigration Service, Nimesh Pharma, and Kofata Motors have stepped forward with vital sponsorship support to back the national team’s global campaign.
The timely interventions come as a massive relief to the Ghana Armwrestling Federation (GAF), which has been working around the clock to finalize travel, accommodation, and operational requirements for the lean, high-efficiency delegation of elite pullers and technical officials.
Expressing profound appreciation on behalf of the Federation, the leadership of GAF commended the security agencies and corporate partners for answering the national call and standing by the athletes at such a pivotal hour.
The support is expected to significantly ease administrative strain and boost morale within the camp as the athletes put the final touches on their technical conditioning before flying out to face the world’s best in India.
Over the past decade, Ghana Armwrestling has established itself as the nation’s most successful and decorated sport, boasting over 573 international medals. As the countdown to departure ticks away, every act of corporate and institutional support strengthens the team’s resolve to fly the national flag high and return with global honors.
